Maib has been named Bank of the Year for the fifth consecutive year by The Banker

Maib proudly announces being named the “Best Bank of the Year” in Moldova for the fifth consecutive time, as recognized by The Banker. This award is a testament to maib's commitment to innovation and customer-centric financial solutions.

Winning customer trust

Maib’s success is attributable to its commitment towards the consumers it serves, which has allowed the Bank to consistently grow its market share. In Retail, ease of access and online-based innovative products have been amongst factors which contributed to a rise in market share. Maib’s progressive consumer acquisition model and science based proactive approach to risk has led to the success of its SME segment, which has seen substantial year-on-year growth in market share (6.1pp y-o-y as of the end of 3Q 2023). In addition, as the bank with the longest running relationships in the business, maib’s scale, expertise, and reach allows the bank to maintain and grow its strong position within the Corporate segment.

Key milestones for maib this year include:

• The introduction of full digital onboarding which allows any Moldovan citizen to open an account with maib without visiting a branch;
• The release of the bank’s inaugural sustainability report, with plans to adopt a fully-fledged sustainability strategy;
• The inaugural bond offering for the domestic market, with the second already being approved by the regulator.
