Maib opens a new model branch, brings renewed focus on customer experience

Today maib opened doors to a new model branch in Buiucani district of the capital Chisinau. The new design and layout aim at creating a familiar comfort for customer, where the client’s needs are addressed swiftly and expectations are met and exceeded. The new branch is fully redesigned using maib’s new brand identity, which was unveiled recently with a series of events, including a laser drone show and a street performance by Moldovan National Youth Orchestra.

New design to elevate and differentiate the branch network

Buiucani Branch is the first maib branch transformed in accordance with the new operational model and visual identity. The innovative design of the branch aims to create an environment that creates familiar comfort for customers, being more welcoming, more colorful, positive, transparent and open. The differentiation of maib’s network comes through customer approach, speed and personalized assistance. Each client will be greeted by the Client Consultant, who will understand the client's needs, offer support, advice and guide the customer to one of the 3 functional areas: quick banking, transactions and advisory. The new functional design aims to streamline customer experience and is based on extensive studies of customer needs.

Giorgi Shagidze, president of maib, says:

“We want to create a new in-branch experience that reflects the personality of maib and our values - always customer-oriented, transparent, professional, trustworthy, innovative, agile, with a team spirit. Our branch network is and will continue to be a key part of our brand and customer identity. We strive to make maib services as simple and easy as possible, no matter what our customers do and where they are. ”

maib rebranding to capture momentum in the retail segment

maib has unveiled its new brand identity on 7 October. With its rebranding and associated marketing push maib aims to attract the attention of the customers, including those in the retail segment. The penetration of retail lending in Moldova is one of the lowest among comparable international peers. By measure of retail loans (including mortgages) to GDP based on 2020 figures, Moldova, at 7.7%, is well behind Romania (14.2%), Russia (19%), Slovenia (23.8%), Georgia (29.9%), Poland (27.7%), Czechia (32.7%), Germany (46.9%). In the past few months (May-August 2021) the retail lending in Moldova has grown at around 30% year-on-year. Year-to-date maib’s share of retail lending has steadily increased from 28.8% at year end 2020 to 29.4% in August 2021. A new brand identity and associated increase in visibility as well as upgraded service offering could help maib further capitalize on this positive momentum.
