Cashless Leader and Card Industry Breakthrough awards for maib from Mastercard

During the "Mastercard Day 2022" event, held this year in Warsaw, Poland, the maib team was awarded with two important distinctions, being recognized as the Cashless Leader in the Republic of Moldova and the Card Industry Breakthrough.

The Mastercard Day event is held annually, bringing together commercial bank representatives, speakers, international banking experts, and development partners to discuss modern regional and international trends in the face of technological transformation. Last year, in the context of Mastercard Day 2021, maib won the "Leader in card performance 2021" award for developing modern, secure and easy-to-use payment solutions.

Maib leadership in payments

In 2022 maib became one of the leaders in online and cashless transactions. Cashless transactions represent 84% by number and 33% by value for maib. Every year maib is improving its digital services. In October 2022, MAIBank app reached a record level of 400k users, up by almost 50% year-over-year. Furthermore, 44% of retail deposits and 11% of retail loans have originated online through the app. With nearly 930 thousand cards issued as of  3Q2022 and 72% of active maibank users maib is on the path of accomplishing its digital and payments strategy.
